Country and Southern, what's the difference?

I feel like people take more offense to "country", but what's really the difference?

You can have country ass cacs that live out in the sticks in Oklahoma which isn't the south

why does everyone in chicago talk with a southern accent? is it because of the migration from the south? if so, would'nt that have worn off by now

You can just hear that Delta.

But yeah a lot of it had to do with migration, why the dialect hasn't changed honestly could before number of reasons. For example, a lot of working class black folk held onto their identity from the region.​

I didn't realize I was country as sh1t until I started traveling the US. I quickly realized that even Atlanta is a little slow.

I have good friends from Detroit, Chicago and in PA, and they're more Country and Southern than a lot of people in Louisiana that have never left.

The real issue is that most people associate deep Southern Accents with people who aren't intelligent.
