My wedding all together cost MAYBE $5,000 and that's including everything. And even that much isn't necessary.

Find a friend or a relative with a nice size back yard, rent a small ceremony hall, find a park and pay the small fee the city might charge, etc.

Of course the marriage is the most important part but if you are going to do anything besides go to city hall you may as well be tasteful.

I swear weddings have to be the most arrogant display of self importance in the modern age. Could understand it years ago with marriage alliances, ya know, uniting two clans together for a multitude of purposes. Nowadays its just two insignificant people who want to spend their lives together. Two peons, two nobodies, etc.. To really illustrate how meaningless weddings are today, consider people simply move in together without the need for a ostentatious ceremony. Or better yet........Bob and Jim can legally get married and have a ceremony. Their special day. :mjlol: What makes taking a dikk up the azz prior to a ceremony and marriage license any less special than taking a dikk up the azz after sayin, "I do." The same with hetero couples. I love seeing traditional families, especially amongst Black people. But weddings are just pretentious nowadays. There's nothing special about your special day.
