Courtney Love Cleared Jay-Z To Use “Smells Like Teen Spirit” Lyrics

Will Jigga be channeling the late great Kurt Cobain on his new album Magna Carta Holy Grail? That is not clear as of right now but Cobain’s widow Courtney Love did reveal that she has cleared Jay-Z to use lyrics from one of Nirvana’s biggest hits “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Love also said that at first Hov didn’t ask to use the lyrics, but then later cleared up everything on the business side.

Hov has always been an admirer of Cobain, even mentioning him in a number of songs. To hear how Hov will cleverly flip the timeless lyrics could possibly be something of beauty. Hov’s new album Magna Carta Holy Grail is set to be released on July 4.
