So fukking stupid. Like, seriously needlessly stupid. And doesn't even make sense within MAGAsphere where Trump still talks about how incredible the time frame of the vaccine was. Sure, the world moved on from COVID like it moved on from the flu after 1920 as just a normal thing we live with and may get every fall/winter. But people still get and die of COVID, just like people still get and die of the flu every year. Intentionally making it harder for people to get safe vaccines for political reasons is the dumbest shyt you can imagine.

Almost nobody I’ve encountered in everyday life talks about COVID anymore. Hard to believe it shut the world down and now to so many it’s an afterthought.

I don’t even see people wearing mask anymore.
This is true. But saying COVID came and went is fukking ridiculous.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is seen alongside Director of the National Institutes of Health Jay Bhattacharya and Commissioner of the Food and Drugs Administration Marty Makary at a news conference at the Health and Human Services Headquarters in Washington, DC on April 22.

NIH Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary announced Tuesday that Covid-19 vaccines would no longer be recommended for healthy children and pregnant women.

US Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Tuesday said the Covid-19 vaccine will no longer be among the recommended vaccines for pregnant women and healthy children on the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s immunization schedule.

The immunization schedule posted online had not yet been changed as of Tuesday morning.

Kennedy announced the change in a video posted to the social media platform X. He was flanked by US Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary and National Institutes of Health Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya.

“As of today, the Covid vaccine for healthy children and healthy pregnant women has been removed from the CDC recommended immunization schedule,” Kennedy said. “Last year, the Biden administration urged healthy children to get yet another covid shot, despite the lack of any clinical data to support the repeat booster strategy in children.”

Pregnant women and children with underlying conditions are at higher risk for severe illness from Covid-19.

The recommendation shift comes among other changes to Covid-19 vaccine policy. The FDA said last week it’s overhauling how it approves Covid-19 vaccines, a move that may limit future shots to older Americans and people at higher risk of serious Covid-19 infection.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated.

If people don't talk about it anymore then to most it came and went. Again at one point this defined people's lives now it's an afterthought to most.

COVID and everything that was learned about society from COVID has been completely and aggressively intentionally forgotten. In the US, it took a pandemic for people getting government support and working from home and quality of life actually went UP for a large chunk of the population. 5 years later, we're doing everything we can to make things worse than it was pre-covid and to make sure there's no government assistance of any kind and making life as hard as possible on the population.
