This might be a situation of where he's just a "baby daddy" and not a "father". That's the only possible explanation.

When I first started going out with my ex, I didn't really care too much about her like that. I wasn't in protector mode, I was in self-preservation mode. As our relationship grew, and we built a deeper bond, then I leaned more towards protector mode. Maybe this is the kind of father that only gets to see his daughter a couple of days a week. Maybe the mother has made the situation a hassle for him, so he's kind of apathetic.

One thing is for certain though. Since it's captured on video for the rest of eternity, I know that he wishes that he could rewind time and not put forth such a cowardly display.
