Regardless of the game 7 result, I think CP3 has showed he’s worthy of a team paying the money on his contract. The argument before was he is declining injury plagued player, but neither has been proven true.

He’s not getting any younger and is still in pursuit of a championship, while the Thunder are still looking to rebuild. This coming off season what do you think happens with CP3?

He's still wildly overpaid and trading him is still hard. It just might not take a bunch of firsts attached with him to get moved.

If I'm OKC I'm not in any rush to move him. They have a ton of future assets as it is and even without Paul won't be so bad that they'll be at the bottom of the West (they'd probably miss the playoffs though).

These are the best type teams for him actually. He's the star player that's surrounded by a group of above average players-borderline stars. Just like when he shined on those New Orleans teams when he first got into the league. When he teams up with another superstar then the head butting and blame game starts plus his game doesn't really mesh with another star.

I don’t think it’s about OKC though, I doubt he himself will be interested in playing there another season if he’s serious about winning a championship before he retires

is he really overpaid if he leads a team that knocks out 2 max players?

I mentioned this before but possibly a Simmons for Cp3/others deal would work for both sides
if anything, Philly has to throw in stuff just to make the money work. Presti would ask for picks that wouldn't kick in til after CP3 left Philly.

It would have to be like Simmons/Thybulle/Richardson/pick for CP3/Dort/Hami/better pick

When he makes $41 mil a year and has a player option for $44 mil the following year, if winning a title is his main option, then he only really has one option, and that's to decline a $44 mil player option. Otherwise, who are these contenting teams ready to throw whatever else they have to get him?

You can list whatever contenders you got and it's gonna lead to a dead end either because said contender has a PG or the contract is too problematic. CP3 is only gonna wind up in a spot that's worse than the one he's in now.

and yeah he'd still be overpaid. It would just be the final indictment on a team that's never gonna get to where they wanna be playing the way they do.
