I used to build computers back in 2006 but I'm kinda out of the loop...for example, i want a 1080ti but what's the min processor I could get? What are the drawbacks? Can I get one of those but still be able to take advantage of a high end graphics card at this price range? Also I want 3 moniters.

The computer will be used for music production, overwatch, battlefield and ultimately a broadcasting for minecraft for my daughter...what do you guys suggest? @Ciggavelli

For those needs your minimum CPU targets should be the Intel Core i7 8700K or the AMD Ryzen 7 1700. Depending on when you are planning to build you might want to wait a little bit for the 8 core Intel processors to come out.

Storage is a big factor in responsiveness these days so go with a 500GB SSD (M.2 NVME preferrably) as your main drive then a 2TB-4TB HDD. 16GB of RAM is the absolute minimum for a system you are trying to build.

In terms of that GPU you are trying to buy you have to consider what monitor you are gaming on. If you are planning to just play at 1080P/60FPS you might want to consider dropping that down a little considering all you are trying to squeeze into a $1,500 build with 3 monitors.

1070 maybe? Can I directly hook up 3 monitors to one of those or will I have to get 2 of them? Like how does that work?

Also, I seen some things while doing my googles that ryzen isn't as good as the Intel when it comes to music production because of the single core power...it was making my head hurt so do you know exactly what that means?

I'd suggest waiting it out a few months, as new Nvidia cards and Intel CPUs are coming out shortly. If you don't wanna wait, I'd go 8700K, 1080ti. Don't game on 3 monitors, it's not worth the hassle. I was super into 3 monitor gaming back in the day, but the industry stopped supporting it and community stopped making mods to get 3 monitor gaming to work. Plus, you need a monster GPU to run 3 monitor gaming.

The intel processors are faster for pretty much anything since single core performance is still what matter most in games and other very demanding software.

A 1070 is good, but what resolution are you targeting? How about 144Hz?

I wanted 4k but I'm not trying to spend that money. 1080 is fine tho...what's 144?

2 monitor gaming is not viable either, as there will be a bezel right in the middle of the game. Stick with 1 monitor for gaming and only use the 2nd monitor for work/productivity. That's what I do, and it's been working out well.

215 Uptown!
I never understood the 3 monitor thing. What games requires 2 monitors? And even if they did require 2 monitors that would mean the monitor that u just websurfing on is either on the far left or the far right.

That whole setup just seems weird to me.
