Lol at the A.I cover and no.

50 said it best if you’re a rapper it’s easier for you to transition or hybrid into *becoming a singer.

If you’re known as a singer it’s hard to make that crossover don’t know why but that’s how it is.

What are we discussing

Craig David is a household name in the U.K. and by the time he got to America he was already a huge star just trying to gain ground in the American market.

Comparing him to Drake is disrespectful honestly because Drake wasn't a star in Canada who came to America already successful.

Any comparison is incidental, the vibe is similar.
The singing and rapping been constant, see Slick Rick.
Waffle-colored barred up singers or singers barred up, Drake owe more to Kanye.
Room for Improvement ain't the same as So Far Gone, that's Kanye. '06 hip-hop was indebted to the turn of millennia sound.
It was only a matter of time before a rapper solidified those current R&B and hip-hop trends, that was Kanye in '08 like it was Teddy Riley and Uptown late 80s and early 90s. Room for Improvement sound like 106 & Park at the time.
Craig David sound like a handful of American dudes that was outta turn of the millennia New York at the time.
So who zoomin' who? Craig got on a wave, Drake got on a wave and caught the one after the one Kanye made.
Any comparison is incidental, the vibe is similar.
