Dallas woman accused of trying to run down kids makes more threa - Dallas News | myFOXdfw.com
A Dallas woman accused of going on a rampage with her car and trying to run down children recently made more threats from jail.
She said it was jealousy, continued rage and lack of remorse that caused the rampage and will cause her to do it again.
On Wednesday, three days after 24-year-old Gabrielle Jackson admitted to busting through a fence, ramming her car into a house and nearly running over two children, she said she wants to go back and fight more with the women who live there.
“I'm mad because [the mother of the children is] going with my baby daddy,” said Jackson in a jailhouse interview with FOX 4’s Melissa Cutler. “That's why. Angry love. I was jealous. Yes.”
Jackson made few apologies for what she did on Sunday morning.
When blinded by rage, she said she aimed her car toward several people, bumping a 6-year-old boy and clipping his 11-year-old brother.
“I’m sorry,” said Jackson.
“Are you really sorry?” asked Cutler.
“No,” said Jackson.
“I didn't think so,” said Cutler.
“I’m not really sorry,” said Jackson.
Jackson said her boyfriend of 10 years, with whom she has a 2-year-old daughter, left her for another woman two weeks ago.
Jackson said she was on her way to church Sunday morning when things took a turn.
“I didn't go to church. I just went over there…to fight,” said Jackson. “That was in my mind. To fight…I went over there to beat her up and pick up Pampers for my daughter.”
When she was arrested Sunday, she told an officer she'd be back with a gun.
“I did say that,” said Jackson. “That was out of anger.”
Still, Jackson said she didn't mean it.
“…because I have a very bad anger problem,” said Jackson. “Very bad temper problem.”
The house still bears the hole where Jackson rammed her car, and the children's grandmother, Brenda Scott, said the children still bear emotional scars from what happened.
“They still talk about it and want to know if she's coming back,” said Scott. “You know, they watch the cars.”
“Sorry, kids, for trying to run you over,” said Jackson.
“‘Cause they were terrified,” said Cutler.
“I know,” said Jackson. “I’m sorry. Tell them I’m sorry.”
The 6-year-old sustained some bruises but is said to be doing OK, along with the 11-year-old.
Jackson remains in jail, on a $200,000 bond. She said she's currently in anger management classes while in custody.
