Man arrested, accused of deliberately causing head-on crash in Raleigh

Raleigh man witnesses what police call deliberate crash

A man facing several charges is accused of deliberately causing a head-on crash on Rock Quarry Road in Raleigh Saturday morning.
The crash was reported around 7 a.m. on Rock Quarry Road and Fox Ridge Manor.
According to arrest warrants, 33-year-oldwas driving with his wife in the passenger seat when he intentionally swerved into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into another car with two people inside.
Jorge Bravo, who sent dash cam video to WRAL News, saw the crash unfold in front of him, describing it as a pretty shocking moment.
“The whole situation was pretty crazy,” Bravo said.
Bravo’s dash cam caught the impact from just yards away on Southgate Drive. He said he rushed over to help when one of the drivers started talking to him
“He was telling me how he was trying to kill himself and his wife because they were constantly fighting and everything,” Bravo said.
Four people were injured, including Singleton, his wife and two men in the car in the opposite lanes. They were all taken to WakeMed. The passengers in both cars had serious injuries but are both expected to recover.
Police said Singleton faces several charges, including two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill causing serious injuries, assault with deadly weapon with intent to kill, careless and reckless driving and driving left of center by patrol.
Officers do not believe impairment to be a factor.
Singleton has been released from the hospital and is now in jail without bond. He is expected in court on Monday.
