This is at the Made in LA exhibit at the Hammer Museum at UCLA. The artist is a black young lady from South LA. The structure was about 20 ft tall, you walked through it like an Egyptian tomb. Black symbols, particularly with LA references, were carved all over the piece. She used that early 90s black art style...gave me lots of nostalgia. I like how she made the Sphinx with black features...especially if you’ve seen all the destroyed noses on Egyptian artifacts in European museums. If you’re in LA anytime soon, this is a must see. The Hammer museum is free, parking is $6 tho.
