MIAMI -
Posting a picture of a stolen ring on Facebook led to the arrest of a man accused of snatching it from a jewelry store at the Sawgrass Mills mall, police said.
Maurice Blake was arrested Tuesday in connection with the March 11 theft at CR Jewelers.
Sunrise police said Blake posed as a customer, asked to see the 2.95 carat, white gold diamond ring and then ran out of the store. Police said the ring was worth more than $42,000.
Blake was arrested in Miami-Dade County.
According to the arrest warrant, an anonymous tip led police to Blake.
Police said Blake posted two pictures of the ring on his Facebook page, including one that showed the ring's price tag.
A store employee also identified Blake from a photographic lineup as the man who stole the ring, police said.
Blake was arrested in connection with a similar crime in Pembroke Pines earlier this month.
