One of my friends, Vincent H., went to prison at the age of 19 for dealing straight (coke). While imprisoned, he got his G.E.D. and took an interest in computers. As part of the Education program he was involved with, he got into Networking and received his A+ Certification and MCSE. Upon his release after 8 years of incarceration, a couple of the guards he did some work for while incarcerated put him in contact with a local Community College's IT Department. While working there, he continued to collect certifications and a Bachelor's in Computer Science. He also performed side-work installing/troubleshooting/maintaining networks for various businesses and religious organizations in the area. He also built a music recording studio in the basement of his home and got a couple local kids off the streets and into PC's/Music Production. His business and religious contacts introduced him to Sony Theater Corp. He is now living in Dallas, Texas where he is the Lead Systems Administrator for all Sony Movie Theaters in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
In his words, 'I was born a hustler, but 'Black' men need to find the right 'hustle' to succeed'.
The End.
