Crips arrested after showing off stolen jeans on Facebook

Crips like to wear hot pants.

Three gang members charged with pulling a violent home invasion robbery in Brooklyn were caught modeling on Facebook the chic Balmain jeans they had stolen, authorities said.

The defense lawyer for reputed Crip Tyshawn Rivera was unfamiliar with the damning evidence when she argued in Brooklyn Federal Court that jeans could be from anywhere.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Margaret Gandy said the stolen jeans weren't from "Macy's or TJ Maxx," but were highly recognizable, high-end jeans that cost between $1,500 and $2,000 per pair.

Celebrities none other than Kim Kardashian, Kate Moss, and Heidi Klum have strutted in Balmains, and rapper Kid Cudi wrote a song called "Balmain Jeans" with the lyrics, "Help me take off my Balmain jeans, I'll undo yours."

The robbery crew allegedly chose the apartment they raided because one of the victims ran an illegal racket selling imported clothing that he purchased from retail stores with fraudulent credit cards — and advertised the expensive duds on Facebook, according to court papers.

Rivera was brought into the courtroom late Thursday wearing a prison jumpsuit because the clothes he was wearing when he was arrested were seized by the FBI.

There were nine persons, including five toddlers, in the apartment at the Cypress Hills Houses when at least four gang members burst inside with guns on May 14.

Immediately after the stickup, three of the jerks, Rivera, Quentin Williams, and Derrick Reed, posted photos on Facebook wearing gold sneakers with wings and the Balmain jeans. They are also charged with stealing $15,000 in cash, $10,000 in U.S. Postal money orders, and jewelry.

A fourth alleged member of the robbery crew, Markel Washington, stayed off Facebook but he was also arrested. They each face more than 10 years in prison if convicted.

In a last desperate attempt at getting bail for Rivera, defense lawyer Donna Newman sputtered: "My client may well have purchased the jeans and may have receipts for them."

Magistrate Judge Peggy Kuo ordered the gang member held without bail.

And they got upset @ me when I told them the scammers were wearing the clothes they stole

Yeah, they may have had intentions on reselling but the article never stated they resold anything

This needs to be emphasized alot more.

Sad watching our people fall victim to some of the most trivial brainless shyt :snoop: if you do dirt man keep that on the low.. first rule

first rule

We're jumping out the gate violating the first rule

1. Father's can't be home. If they are they're trash but i highly doubt they are...

2. Fascination with material things needs to cease. It's cool to like nice things but a man isn't supposed to be dominated by his want for fabric. Assets > fabric

- A young black man shouldn't find his confidence or self worth in european brands. Wear the same jeans with 10 grand plus stacked away for those rainy days...

3. Low self esteem/no knowledge of self/No purpose :mindblown: ( see number 1 to solve issue)

Women aren't impressed by how fly your gear is.. That shyt was always overblown young brothers

if you can't change a tire, oil, keep a job or income flowing through your pocket to maintain your situation your worthless to a woman (outside of some strokes) AND YOUR KIDS (WORTHLESS TO YOUR FAMILY)

woman aren't worried about what kind of jeans you have on :snoop: ... or your sneakers... 9 times out of 10 that's your boys or the corny nikkas you keep around you front for

Why do I keep waking up to this shyt :snoop:

get you a couple pair of sneakers some nice jeans and some V-necks and call it day champ.. Your focus after 19 should be 2 or 3 nice suits for your job or real social outings..

Stop falling victim to this shyt man

It feels like living here in Brooklyn I'm watching this gentrification culture eat us alive.

From the fascination with high end European designer brands, to the keeping up with the jonseses culture, it's sad. Cats need to be focusing on getting out of public housing instead they doing this....

This is why NYC is depressing at times....

Bro.. it's because Dad isn't around. For whatever reason... whatever reason

shyt :snoop:

this is a feminine issue..Women suffer from this over-fascination with fabric. We got a generation of youngins that were conditioned by the environment and media. Usually your guardians offset the pysho-impact of that shyt with a dose of reality.

To some degree this a form of c00nin. Out here dying and getting locked up because your sense of purpose is validated through european brands.

I'm not saying all people who buy Balmain (or Nike) are c00ns.. I'm sure some brothers are responsible when they purchase things they want

- I'm talking to the brothers who are at the bottom and should focused on coming up.

There is a lack of strong heterosexual black men in our communities and we got brothers in the lowest socioeconomic circumstances getting 10 years for stealing jeans.... and nikkas want to talk about the gay agenda all day long here
