I'd probably edge Darvish over Arrieta now, but don't forget Darvish is injury prone. Missed a significant portion of 2016, missed the entire 2015 season as well.

Yea recovering from tommy john he made 31 starts in 2017.Besides that he's had typical pitcher minor injuries

That’s the eighth-biggest drop, out of 171 starters. Unintentional velocity drops are seldom a good thing.

arrieta hits per 9 increased,hr per 9 increased,fip,era,whip increased

strikeouts down,hr's up,walks up,velocity down. This is not a good trend. Arrietas 2 post season starts he walked 10 batters and couldn't get thru the 5th of either start. Only a casual fan who don't watch the cubs thinks arrietta is still a great pitcher. Literally Everything is trending down
