I'm a NY resident as well. Also, that's how the program is funded through increased taxes which ALL NY residents (including the overwhelming majority of DACA recipients) pay. The programs benefits residents who have a family income less than $125,000 (you know...those who have a much harder time affording to go to college).

Bruh, DACA recipients aren't 20 year olds that just recently came to the U.S.. They were people who were brought here as children and on average they were brought here around the age of 5-6. They grew up in America and if they also grew up in NY, I don't see why the program can't be extended to them.

But I don't think it's fair Dreamers can receive tuition over an out of state student.

I'm for dreamers receiving free tuition but not over out of state students. I don't see why out of state candidates can't receive at least reduce tuition if they meet the qualifications.

Out of state people can be candidates that could be the working Homeless or transient.

It could be those that are fleeing natural disasters.

Say they are a Puerto Rican citizen moving from Puerto Rico after the Hurricane? They can't qualify but a dreamer can?
