Again, that's your personal take on it.

Problem is, we can't put our personal sh*t on how other people see it. Premier said Jeru was his friend and his artist. But he was also cool with B.I.G. He produced for B.I.G. while he was dissing another one of his friends, Nas. So should he have more loyalty to one over the other? Or should he focus more on the craft and treat them equally? That's for him to decide. He chose to produce for BOTH of them, just like he did with B.I.G. and Jeru. So regardless if they threw shots at each other. He considered both friends.

In all of these examples, it's the same sh*t. Pete said he was cool with Common AND Cube. But Common was the one that needed the beat. He gave it to him. Felt their issues didn't have anything to do with him. We're seeing the same perspective from ALC, Dre and mad other GOAT producers. They see themselves as neutral. They make the beats. They stay out the way. It's really that simple.
He is also the head of the label said dis came out on. He actually has final say in the album. He's more than a producer in this case.
Pete also said, after Bytch in You came out Cube did not like it and was pissed. So despite claiming neutrality it doesn't always work.

It's on Freddie's label too.

They're collaborating and sharing roles as EP. Most of the album was done years ago. Gibbs decided when it dropped and what would be on it. He's not signed to ALC. It's a 50/50, just as they've been saying. Same reason why the Badu joint won't come out until she's cool with it.

Back to Pete though. Cube being mad doesn't mean something didn't work. That's Cube's issue, lol. The song definitely worked nicely for Common. Producers have always tried to stay out of the way. We just spoke about 30 years of examples of that. Why would that change today?

Dame wasn't happy that Spitta was getting at him with a producer he introduced him to. But Ski's job is to make beats. He's still cool with both of them. But stays away from the issues. It's been that way in Hip Hop forever.

If the people getting dissed are feeling some type of way it's not set in stone the proper tact is to let an MC say whatever about whoever when you're producing.

Sounds like as long as Gibbs keeps acting like a bytch and Al keeps working with him, then there won’t be any further Curren$y x ALC tracks….

I hear it too. fukk being an elder statesman - if you’re giving a man a platform to disrespect me then we’re obviously not cool like that. If we were, dude wouldn’t feel so comfortable to be dissing me in your presence.

Butcher take note lol

From what I'd been hearing, Alc had problems with Spitta before Alfredo 2 and from what I've heard they fell out way before now and that's why Alc had no problems with Freddie dissing Spitta

All rumors though, and nothing super concrete

Take the Jay example.

Nas reached out to Swizz for a beat to diss Jay. Jay could've been like, "Nah, don’t give him anything because we know I'm not gonna like him dissing me and if you do, I'm not friends with you anymore". LOL!! This is Hip Hop. It's music. People might get their feelings hurt. We know that. But these producers don’t ever pick sides. Why would they start when Curren$y doesn't like something?

Spitta has done it himself. He didn't have an issue going after people in the same circle, while using a producer who was friends with both of them. But now, its an issue? Nah.

Jay dissed Ja too, on BP2. Irv said that he stayed out of it. Producers have always been neutral. It's not a new thing.

He didn't say anything like that. :stopitslime:

👇

Full context

CURREN$Y:

What it’s rooted in, I can’t do nothing about because it’s old. I thought it was a good project. F**king people thought it was a classic. [I promoted] it on Instagram. I had just had a kid, so I’m like, F**k. What can I do? I told [Alchemist], “I’m not gonna play ‘The Boy is Mine’ with you with this dude. Y’all got it.”

XXL:

Does something like that ever make you think twice about doing collab projects?

CURREN$Y:

Nah, because rap is that. It’s not many settings that I’ve been in where I don’t think that we’re actually doing this [presses fists together]. Except, it’s just through rap, so it ain’t sh*t. [But] I probably gotta let the [project] me and Larry June got go. I told [the project producer Alchemist] I wasn’t tripping… For the good of music, and the sounds that me and Larry put down already, I probably gotta let the people have this good sh*t.

Al solid. He neutral. He make the beats. So, it ain’t no G-code with bro. I ain’t tripping off that. But with that being said, I can’t get in the car with you because I know for sure what I can’t expect.

Have you and Alchemist talked out the situation?

CURREN$Y:

Yeah, like a day or two right after it. And I told him it’s good. But I told him, if it was me, and the muthaf**ka said something about you, the song wouldn’t exist. I wasn’t tripping. I’m not tripping. But the same way I know, clearly, I’m guessing me and this man [Freddie Gibbs] won’t do no music, y’all in the same car.

Neg yourself p*ssy

Right.

Larry just did one of the year's best albums with ALC. He's not talking sh*t about Spitta, to my knowledge, but he was still clearly touring with ALC and working with him and hanging with Gibbs. ALC is still shouting Spitta out in interviews. Larry's still cool with everybody. These dudes were all always around each other.

So now it becomes a "If you're still gonna be cool with that dude, I can't be cool with you anymore" thing? This ain't high school. It's the music business. You have an issue with somebody, get in the damn booth.
The way you keep reaching to make this situation nothing like it is is crazy:mjlol:

He didn't even say "I can't be cool with you anymore"

The entire gist of what Spitta is saying is "Nikka I don't even wanna talk about this old ass shyt but it's obvious me and Gibbs won't be working anymore. Me and Alc been talked we cool" you turning it into all this other shyt trying to make the nikka look angry:mjlol: when GIBBS the one antagonizing nikkas:dead:

Producers don’t have anything to do with beef. They're neutral.

We just went through 30 years of examples. End of story.
