i been waitin on this like 5 years and ill b honest, its nowhere near the classic that covert coupe is. But anyway its still got some heat id say my top 5 right now is
Black Rally Stripes, Smoking in the Rain, Mack Book, Fat Albert and Cartridge wit dissappearing ink as an HM.... Black Rally clearly the one song that is def. up to covert coupe standards both production and lyric/flow wise the others are arguable imo. Curren$y and ALC were two completly different nikkaz with a completely different hunger in 2011 when the first one drop so i guess i cant compare 2 much id give this a 7.5 upon my first 3 listens all the way through :yeshrug:
On CC Al said he didn't do anything at all to cater to Currensy's style. Currensy told him to just do him and feed him whatever beats he wanted to. On this it sounds a little more like Currensy maybe went after a certain sound. I have no evidence that's what happened. Total guess.

The Mack Book is the best song so far

Lol everyone has different favorite songs. Black Rally Stripes is one I keep seeing and it might be my favorite too.

I had to bump my grade up a notch im listening as we speak and there were a few tracks that were just TOO laid back and were missing that shyt that made my head nod but now even those tracks sound better. It does seem as though currensy def. had more to do with production as these ALC beats are way too smooth and therre isnt any headbangers like Prodigy might have. Not saying one style is def. better than the other but i do agree that currensy may have handpicked these. Very laid back/ smoking and riding music here...

I agree overall. I could hear Prodigy rapping on Black Rally Stripes, Disappearing Ink, 500 Pounds of Gas, or 93 AMG. Those are about the most menacing joints on here. Prodigy would sound dope on Cartridge too. I guess 93 AMG isn't that menacing or banging, but it does have a creepy vibe to it that P would sound slick over.

This tape much more mellow than Covert Coup and idk if I like it as much but it's the only project I remember from 2016 that's dropped so far

I like nice shyt and I know how to get it
Hustle dumbass, it's not rocket science, or quantum physics
Get on task fool, trap till a trillion
Wrote these raps in New Orleans and performed em in New Zealand
Word to Pusha T and that's legal drug dealing
My God, what a feeling
:wow:

Cuz of bars like these, which I can name example after example after example of just dope, vivid narratives he creates on every album. He has his own unique style. Who sounds like Spitta?

Elevator music?

:francis:

Sounds like you just ain't appreciating the flow

:yeshrug:

One of my favorites :damn:

:myman:Real recognize...

:salute:

mane I smoke to this shyt every morning

See me on the set, I'm the picture of survival
Live in the flesh dropping bombs on my rivals
We the muthafuccin JETS, you just muthafuccin clown shoes
Borrowing ya big homie jewelry, shooting virals
Never wheeling them cars, just standing by em
Not really knowing them broads, just standing by em
No first class tickets, you just buy the stand-by ones
I'm adding dollars, you ad-miring
I'm "words with friends", whole time, in-flight wireless
Email fulla condo prices, marble or granite
Kitchen islands, home stylings

:whew::ohlawd::wow:

The flow is IMMACULATE

Curren$y got a few tracks that would make my top 100

:wow:

Showroom is spittas best track, top 3 at least.

Aint feel it. Especially after Covert Coup. Sound like Spitta smoked and just went in the booth...Usually he writes his shyt.

You don't think Spitta wrote for this? I don't know his music well enough to guess.

96 AMG is the reason why Alc is in my Top 5, he knows how to pick samples that are just:banderas:

I'm liking this mixtape more and more, great music to ride and smoke to

Even though I think Covert Coup is a better project, I see myself listening to this a lot more

Not everyone can just find a loop that's so fresh that it would seem wrong to mess with it. RZA was the first producer that I really fukked with heavy that would just find the perfect loop and drop it without really messing with it. 96 AMG is up there with some of Alc's most classic loops.

First time listening to a project from this guy

He comes off as a poor man's Roc Marci to me, which is still pretty damn good
