Seems as tho Gates had a great path lined up for him but the injury and the fact that he didn't love the game at all killed it for him...
Arthur had a much more difficult path but he was able to get a scholarship out of it...
If you loved the game, I don't see how this movie kills your dreams......I dunno, I've gone after my dreams in life and have found that the only thing that can kill your dream is realizing it's not for you via experience.
