I'm seeing a lot of new solar panels in my neighborhood.

I even had the guy come out last year to discuss. but it's clearly a scam between the leasing and the trouble with getting that lease transferred if you decide to sell that house.

it's only a good deal if you buy them out right.

I spend like $75-$150 monthly on electricity. average that out, and I'm maybe dropping $1500 a year on electricity. even if I bought the panels outright, it would take me 20 years to break even. shyt is dumb.

And he financed the purchase. Will take him at least 5 years to pay off. Not sure what they projected that he would make from generating and selling electricity back to the utility company, but it would only make sense if he could pay outright and break even under X amount years and then start earning from it.
80 thousand is entirely too much.
