Oh yea, his 93 solo album is underrated. He's doing what he was born to do, create solo work for the culture.

That ODAD record is fukking tough if you haven't heard it. Just discovered today it was upped on bandcamp after searching for it because of this article. Hit play and :ohhh: The drums & vocals on it, omg :wow: Bump that ODAD Daddy O fans: It isnt ANYTHING you have heard from him before.

:ohlawd:

Really surprising distinct sound.

Daddy O is a legend, he should be revered in the same breath as De La Soul,PE,Tribe,Brand Nubian. He's part of DNA of NYC. This obsession with dj's & media just wanting to hear "Talking all that jazz" or "Go Stetsa Go" This shyt needs to stop, they are catchy songs but Daddy O has much more to offer. You insult him when that's all you can see him as. It is 30 years ago. There are plenty of other things for people to focus on. For example, he was ahead of his time in lyricism, emcee vocals, production, arrangement, programming & artist development. fukking rare to have all those 6. I'm not surprised how many people he mentored to become successes, he's a dynamo when it comes to Hip Hop game.

He's releasing projects like this now:

That's 3 projects in one year for everyone in Hip Hop to bump. He's doing it for the culture. Oh yea, collaborating with Freestyle Fellowship is another example of how far ahead of his time he is.

Daddy-O pure OG. he is virtually unknown if you take in consideration what his contributions to Hip Hop are. Stetsasonic was a huge one but he brought much more than that.

:whew:

RAW. Verses from "Da Wickedest Freestyle" which ended up on Funk Flex's 4th LP and "Playa's Anthem". Sometimes Big would reuse verses on songs obvioulsy these songs were never released. You can tell these are the originals because the verses and flow are slightly different than the released verisons. Love "Steal to Rob" beat and Slick Rick sample was fire. "If They Die" has to be arguable one of Lil Kim's earlist verses she ever recorded.

She sounded so tough and raw on this. These 2 songs are like finding a Hip Hop Jewel in a forbidden pyramid, lol. Daddy-O cool man, glad he released these. Even though I've heard both verses it was cool to hear them over these beats and to hear the other Junior Mafia members rapping too. Sadly cause of the Lil Kim drama it's been a mess but they released in LP in 05 called "Riot Muzik" and he had some bangers on it, this was my joint from that album:
