Raven actually wrote a lot of that fukkery himself, Paul E letting the guys write for themselves was like a double edged sword, because on the one hand the angles were so fukking cool and on the other hand one time Sandman got crucified in front of Kurt Angle

That's why WWE needs him and Jake Roberts as writers or agents. Raven ain't gonna happen because of the Union lawsuit but the quality of the show would improve tenfold.

I agree but in hindsight it was probably the best that Angle never made his debut in ECW... he may would have ended up like Tommy Dreamer and he probably would have never turned into the GOAT that he is so to Raven for accidentally offending Kurt Angle out of ECW

ECW had a lot of guys that were legit wrestlers before they all went to WWF/WCW, contrary to popular belief it wasn't all flaming tables matches and naked chicks, Dean Malenko vs Eddie comes to mind immediately. Plus towards the end there Paul was trying to back off the hardcore stuff and move towards the indie style wrestling that's popular today. Of course ECW went out of business, Paul got hired by WWE and his protege Gabe Sapolsky went on to to co-found and book ROH, which is probably what ECW would've turned into had it not went out of business

The last shoot I remember he did was the Kayfabe Commentaries ECW Timeline of 1996, precisely the year of this thread's theme, although he doesn't discuss it that much. He said the idea of the kid's involvement was Sandman's.

CM Punk flipped the script on raven in ROH, basically making him the sandman during their feud. If they wanted to book the Bray Wyatt vs taker rematch they need to look back on this feud and take notes
