Jay didn’t even have a label for years until he started Roc Nation. And he’s still splitting money just with other people. And that business has lasted 16 years now, like twice as long as roc-a-fella, so it was obviously the right move.

There’s missing pieces but Lyor is right to an extent. Even with Lyor giving him information about how much more Jay could make if he cuts off Dame (and Biggs), just out of loyalty and the fact that they’re that close Jay wouldn’t have even gave it a serious thought.

Jay was tired of Dame decision making.
From bombarding Rockefeller records with the Philly nikkas and then Camron/dipset. Who pretty much was openly disrespecting him during that time.

He didn't take any of them nikkas with him. He only took Kayne and Bleek

Dame violated when Jay was reeling from Ether and went on vacation to clear his head and Dame signed Cam and Dipset behind his back.
Jay more than likely didn’t want his business and ultimate fate left in the hands of two other nikkas. So he did what he had to do to not only get out of that situation, but position HIMSELF as the Boss (President of Def Jam) as well as get access to his Masters (Generational wealth)
It was a no brainer as far as business decisions go. At the end of the day the only person you can rely upon to have YOUR best interest at heart is yourself. Cut out loud ass Dame and dead weight Biggs and take control of your own destiny.
It worked out for Jay, and now everybody EXCEPT Dame is back in the fold. Which means Dame is the problem

I think dislike is a strong word but at least some of the members did feel like he didn't care for them. When Oschino and Peedi Crakk went on Drink Champs, Oschino said he an epiphany one day when he realized Jay was never on any State Property track but he would be a feature on other people's songs and was like "damn, bul really don't mess with us like that".
To be fair he did take Peedi with him (well not really "take" him cause Peedi was already at Def Jam anyway) after Peedi thought going with Dame but Dame tried to lowball him, it's just that ultimately Peedi's heart wasn't in it like that and therefore Jigga stopped pushing him and he eventually had to move on.

Not true.
When he he left, he took Freeway, Young Gunz, and Peedi Crakk with him. Freeway is also currently with Roc Nation.
Jay was the reason most of the Philly cats were Roc in the first place according to them.
