- Anderson Varejão – In 2013, Varejão developed a blood clot in his lung following surgery for a leg injury, ending his season.
- Jerome Kersey – A former NBA player who tragically passed away in 2015 due to complications from a blood clot.
- Brandon Ingram – In 2019, Ingram was diagnosed with DVT in his right arm, which ended his season early, but he was able to return the following year.
- DeAndre Jordan – In 2016, while playing for the Los Angeles Clippers, Jordan was diagnosed with a blood clot in his left leg, which sidelined him for several games.
