Dame Lillard wants to play with Ben Simmons, Jalen Brown, or Aaron Gordon

they need to blow this team up. dame and cj will not win anything meaningful and the FO is a mess.

there's only 30 nba HC jobs so i get why billups accepted this offer but it was just shytty timing for him. they had a stable FO but this year everything is just hitting the fan.

Ehhh even then, Billups was well thought of around the league where he could have had his pick of almost any FO/HC gig. He just happened to choose the one with a disgruntled, moody superstar.

More times than not, it’s better to take a low profile gig where you get time and patience from the fan base to make your input on the team.

Not that it’s worth a damn, but since that disgraceful performance in Tokyo, my opinion of him is in the toilet. This current behavior is just unseemly.

if this is true it says something about dame if simmons is who he wanna align himself with in a quest for a chip after seeing how he went about shyt this offfseason :francis:

Ehhh he probably realizes that Simmons is likely the best trade package that they’ll get in return for CJ.

When you’ve been the franchise player for a decade(and let’s be real, he probably their best player since Drexler, Roy didn’t have the years) you should have a lot of say so of what direction The franchise should be going if they intend to keep you.
Man, please. You can’t win a title with Dame as your number one.

Now that Olshey is out of the paint, I'm guessing that they'll reconsider that Simmons offer even if it means giving up those multiple picks/swaps in the process. Portland is one of those desperate teams that I mention that would up their offering price to get Simmons in order to save their season and calm fans frustrations.

People will be in their feelings if they see Morey wasn’t stupid for holding him until he got a deal he wanted

If I were Philly, I’d initiate the call first asking Portland are they sure that they don’t want to change their minds about the original offer. Even Simmons at his worst is still a better asset than CJ and they can always flip him and Dame if it doesn’t work out.

Chauncey is in a bad situation as that team has long been long finished, probably since the bubble. He's also calling them out in public and to the media too much as well. He had a nice role with Ty Lue on our coaching staff last season and helped us tremendously

---From the Athletic

Lillard intends to give the Trail Blazers organization time to find its next leader of basketball operations. But beyond the front office component, the face of the franchise still wants significant changes to the roster. Multiple sources have told The Athletic that Lillard would like to play with Philadelphia 76ers three-time All-Star Ben Simmons. The Trail Blazers’ league-worst defense would instantly improve, and sharing a backcourt with a non-shooter could work given Lillard’s high-volume usage.

Sources say the Trail Blazers, under Olshey, discussed the framework of a trade for Simmons, moving CJ McCollum, a first-round draft pick and a young player such as Nassir Little or Anfernee Simons to Philadelphia. The 76ers, sources said, at one point asked the Trail Blazers for McCollum and multiple draft picks and multiple draft swaps, which Portland rejected. Olshey maintained significant confidence in the roster he constructed. Now, it’s unclear if there’s a deal to be had with the 76ers. But with Olshey out, who among chair Jody Allen, vice chair Bert Kolde and Cronin would be the one making the call on a Simmons trade or any acquisition designed to alleviate Lillard’s concerns?

The hope within the organization is that Olshey’s exit acts as a kind of reset.

Am I misunderstanding? I'm pretty sure this sounds like Dame wants the team to trade CJ.

Also, that Olshey built a house of cards.

If y'all are paying attention, after this offseason, the gloves come off...

Lillard is now the GM, he's been making silent moves. Getting rid of Neil was his first hit. They literally dug up some bs, that damn near every boss or CEO does, and got him fired.

He's now forcing CJ, Nurk, & Cov off the team. They should all be moved by trade deadline.

Hell, I don’t think I’ve even heard one story about his dealings that even started the investigation in the first place. They mentioned the investigation and then fired him without saying what they ever found.

It’s no wonder that other GMs and FO people were up in arms about it and rightfully so.
