Those were the days 
We would still be outside hooping until it got dark if the homie had the basketball goal in the driveway/on the street.
Playing sideline kill in the streets because no field and barely a sidewalk.
Wrapping it up with a night of gaming and eating bullshyt like he said. Making bets, playing against other cats online/local linked, aim chats, trying to beat quests in RPG’s, etc.
I think young cats still do this though.

Yea, my homie was an only child he had ALL the toys,video games ,board games etc
His moms was mad cool use to be ordering pizza and making nachos and sundaes

My god daughter be doing virtual sleep overs. Outside of that her mom let her do one in person with all the moms and kids there. The days of letting kids be free and unsupervised is over.
My friends son and their friends still have sleep overs.

This how I know you young, you didn't come up in the 90s when sleepovers was real...you on some gay shyt because your generation doesn't understand..
I remember when mortal kombat 3 came out on the genesis, I had like 4 of my homies over from Friday night until sunday morning..we played the game all night trying to learn the combos while eating pizza hut pizza and during the day we was outside throwing the football with pops or riding bmx's around the neighborhood...man..being a kid in the early 90s was amazing.

No reason they still can't happen, you just have to be the adult and adapt to the times.
Rules:
- no phones
- police yourselves; if an adult has to step in, it will be worse than anything you can come up with
- foul language has two outcomes: horse stance or knuckle pushups
Things order themselves pretty quickly after that
The only real challenge is getting parents to realize they're now the adults in the situation and they need to stop babying their children. Started off volunteering to pay for the parents to have a night out...after the 1st-2nd night they invariably give the money back and start volunteering to be chaperones. Rotating system of three adults at any given time.
