Dont think he is retiring but Reed has made it known for the past 2-3 seasons that he wanted an extension. Ravens wanted him to play his contract through before talking an extension. I think that the ravens will eventually give him a new contract. He needs to retire a Raven.
It's for security basically , guaranteed money and years
Say he tears his acl and wants to come back next year, being old and coming off a injury most likely he will be cut but will get that guaranteed money compares to being a ufa getting a laron Landry 1 year 2.5 deal

He been saying he might retire for a couple of seasons now. He's got that nerve issue in his neck so you can't really blame him. Ozzie is not gonna give Ed a huge extension, not at this point. Signing Flacco to an extension is a higher priority.
Ozzie gave Webb a fat contract this offseason breh.

that was an easy decision to make as far as giving Webb his just due. With the other corner on the other side it will be hard to throw on the Ravens like that. Reed should have a field day this season if he comes back healthy and motiviated.

Smart move locking him up before he starts making probowls and becomes a household name
Had we waited til next offseason he would've gotten over 10 mill per year easily
