You can listen to reggae into your old age, and white people was not able to infiltrate it and destroy it, but damn@how they cause garbage to thrive in hip-hop. Its comedy that the black folks on here join in with them when they are really mocking the culture.
I don't know that that's true. And if anything. everyone is mocking the culture. White record execs promote what sells, and if that were empowering revolutionary hip-hop, a la Paris and deadprez, they would sell that. It's a chicken and egg thing, as regards the people dictating what they want, versus big business telling them what they should like. Who knows? Really what you're seeing is just hip-hop moving on pace with everything else in pop culture now. We're in the age of, for one thing, appearance over substance, thought, consideration, etc. It's everywhere and hip-hop is just reflecting that, no?
