I’m sure it has already been said but this is why it’s best to stay out of the streets. When it’s on, it’s on and if you get ambushed, there is nothing you and your people can do about it. So “keeping it on you” serves no purpose if you don’t see the move…

There is no ducking this kind of smoke either because if someone is willing to get down on you like this, they will go visit your family if they can’t find you.

I won’t even front… at one point in high school, I nearly got sucked into the allure of the dope boy lifestyle.

A family friend of mine used to be a good church boy. Years later, I would see him in the latest cars, fitted, chains, baddest bytches. It didn’t take a genius to figure out what was going on. Crazy thing is, he was a proper nikka nerd like me. We’d talk about DBZ, video games etc.

Anyway, during my senior year of high school (he was a few years older), he told me straight up not to get involved in this lifestyle. He wish he stayed in school and focused. He said shyt ain’t sweet constantly looking over your shoulder, wondering if this is your last day.

Well a week later, I remember seeing my local barbershop cornered off by 5-0. Breh got ambushed/set up whilst getting a trim. That shyt felt eery after that final conversation I had with him.

After that, I stayed far away from any nikkas remotely associated with the streets.
