There are niccas who are going through this kind of shyt and they just work at a mill or something making much less. They're just working.

They prolly give less than a fucc about how cool that appears to you...

Real talk. Back in my customer service days, an employee from a pretty well known company was calling in to file an insurance claim after losing a finger in a paper pressing machine. I thought he was calling from home or the hospital until I heard someone in the background yell for him to get back on his machine because his break was over :yeshrug:

it is entertainment to you but it doesn't sound like entertainment to them. its "their" job.

My job could kiss my ass if all that was going down

Anyway, this is why I side with players who holdout or want to renegotiate contracts, get yours cuz no telling when it's gone in this game

The only football players who can stay in the game for as long as they can and dont have to worry about any devastating injuries are the kickers/punters. Go figure :manny:

They HAVE to. Might point is that Taylor's risking it all when he already has at least a cool 5 mill in the bank. Corny-- especially when you have a wife and kids.

yeah, this is why I Agreee with you about it being kinda corny.

My father doesnt watch sports anymore b/c he says too much is made of it these days. I agree with him on that end, but I still watch. I like Jason Taylor, but I'm not "wowed" by stories like this....but the average NFL fan who worships these athletes is fascinated by this type of stuff.

If you've been in the league 4-5 years and you have $10 million in the bank and facing life or death or losing a limb, it's stupid to continue....and at a certain point I can't respect it b/c it's moreso you serving ur EGO and/or being greedy.

Going along with what i just said, this is a comment from that page

J. Taylor was a warrier. So it was Z. Thomas, who by the way, concusions made him to retire. I wish the Dolphins had more players with a heart like that. In the mean time, incompetents like Ireland fills his pockets with not deserved money without receiving any hit in his live.

"Fans" like this are the problem.

These are the clowns who gas these athletes up calling them warriors/soldiers and will be the first to call them wimps, or losers when they dont break their neck for them or when they change teams for more money.

Nobody is cutting Earl Campbell any checks these days for being a busted physical shell of a man. Being a "warrior, relentless competitor" isnt making him any money....meanwhile many other former players who got out early have cushy jobs as analysts or can still do other things to make money long after their playing days end.

It's part of the sport. It modern day gladiators. They play for the money and glory. They know the risks, and know they leave bits of themselves on that field.

replace hustle with *insert sport*

But that''s only part of it. Their union is way too shytty though, you can get cut so quickly and thrown in the bushes that dudes go to extremes to play.
