that's the thing. Cormier didn't take Mir down, because to be honest the only way he could lose that fight was if Mir pulled off a submission like he did against lesnar, so it made no sense to take him to ground
I don't know how slick jon's BJJ is, but he is going to need it in this fight, because that's cormier's weakest area

Cormier will eat lotsa standing elbows. Like most of Jones opponents, they realize during the fight that Jones efficiency using his range is crazy and most of their gameplanning becomes moot. I think Jones will be ready to handle an aggressive Cormier. Stuffs on deck. I think the fight stays standing but also wouldn't be surprised if Jones decided to make it a wrestling match all night too. Though he's already champ, dude likes to beat them at their own game too.

Yeah Jones always comes prepped. Aside from taking Gustafsson lightly, which nearly cost him the belt, he's, as you mentioned, stupidly efficient at utilizing his range. I see a portion of takedowns stuffed, but I also foresee DC getting at least a few. I can't fukking wait.. it's so far away smh

DC said if he sticks his arm out, it will get punched, or grabbed and dislocated.

The problem is DC spars with Cain who has crazy reach as well. DC is fights in overdrive THE ENTIRE FIGHT. He won't even give Jones a chance to breath and think of doing 'tricks'. He's going to do Jones like Chael did Silva in the first fight. You heard it here first.
