Exum's problems are all mental and that's scarier than anything else. Dude's got all the physical tools to get by anyone in the league - but he's content to only shoot set 3s. That's just crazy...

He's an HS to NBA pro, you are almost incapable of understanding that players need time to develop.

I even said he'd be terrible before the season started :dead:

October 15 -
Exum is a long ways off, I expect a pretty shytty rookie year from him, you don't go from playing against Aussie high schoolers to the NBA and do well right away.

If the dude is ass 3-4 years from now after he's put on some weight I'll say so and admit I was wrong, which you refuse to do with garbage ass Waiters.

Nah, physically he's not ready and it's causing the mental issues, he's really skinny and gets pushed off his spots when he tries to finish in the lane. So in turn, he doesn't drive even though he can beat people off the dribble he avoids going to the rim. He's going to need some weight lifting, his frame needs at least another 10-15lbs.

The Jazz are great at player development, he has a long way to go but they cannot afford for him to fail.

He's much better than Exum at this point and he's only a year and a half older.

Payton's ceiling isn't that high though, he's been good but he's one of those Rubio/Rondo type of PGs where he'll post some really gaudy rebound/assist numbers but the big scoring nights will be few and far between and teams will sag way off him in the future.

Come on, he's a better scorer than those guys. Rondo and Rubio are basically afraid to shoot.

How do you figure he's a better scorer than Rondo & Rubio, they're all the same type of PG.

Back to Dante though, what I don't understand is why people will say he's trash, yet Marcus Smart doesn't get anyone breaking down his game even though he's been just as bad as Dante despite being almost 2 years older, being pegged as the most pro-ready PG in the draft and playing 2 years of college.

He isn't afraid to shoot. Those guys have been pros for years and haven't evolved. Payton will be better than both of them.

I never got the Smart hype. He was an awful shooter in college and that's still the case. I think he understands how to play and is really good defensively, but he cannot shoot to save his life. I was holding my breath during Boston's pick because Randle was still on the board. :whew:
