Your girl shouldn't dictate what you can and can't do and neither should the legality of a particular activity. If you smoking weed in an area where it's not legal you are committing a crime and by default a criminal. The dude who sells it to you is too. Why is your crime of buying it ok to your girl but dude sellin it to you isn't?
