I see a lot of people in here talking about Dave’s status as an icon, and a champion of the people. I’m just wondering why he has invested so much negative time and energy in this particular subject? It’s not like he is fighting for a cause that helps anyone at all. He isn’t taking on the LGBTQ community, or calling out any “agenda” that you guys are in here talking about, he is dunking on a subset of transgender folks, and that’s it. He isn’t/wasn’t “cancelled”, he hasn’t advocated for anyone not to be cancelled that has been, he hasn’t called out a “gay agenda” that alot of folks in here claim is coming for the kids, he is strangely fixated on crushing this very tiny group of people that didn’t like what he said. I mean, they tried him, he proved to be too popular, but now he is flexing on kids, and because 2 or 3 kids opposed him, the whole generation are a bunch of sensitive little bytches that deserve to get piled on by adults? I always check out Donnell at the Improv, but I just happened to be in ATL. Donnell is low key one of the funniest comedians working. How long was Dave’s set? Was he going in?

Hard to tell the time since Dave made us lock up the phones but it felt like 30 minutes. He felt like there were adults that used the kids to attack him. He spoke about critics telling him cancelling is not real and if cancelling was BS why are they trying to deplatform his work. Actually, he WAS there for that exact reason...which is why Dave comes off even worse. If I'm reading this correctly, this non-mandatory meeting was basically a symposium for the kids to give Dave a piece of their minds. And rather than handling it like the adult he is, Dave defaulted to being the school bully. The kids thought this was their chance to be heard (for once) and Dave made it all about him...again.

He was there because this was supposed to be the naming ceremony and fundraiser. The naming had been cancled/postponed due to protesors not wanting the school to acknowledge Dave. Once that happened there was no seperating the event from the controversy.
He came the day he was supposed to come to be honored and raise funds and decided to let people vote with their dollar on wether he should have the theater named after him or not.
