generally people are moreso propelled by aura presentation and oftentimes passion rather than substantive reason

he's has been presented to the public as some sort of intellectual... but once you get past the presentation he dont be saying shyt ... at least the times ive given him an ear... and im not trying to attack him. i be wanting to root for him..it aint jus him! this applies to heads of state on down ...

ive read somewhere this is because of American market culture... where products and people are promoted instead of ideas accessed

I get the passion, but streaming was around when bro was dropping hits.

He probably didn't think streaming would become a big thing, so he was late to the party.

Streaming is a tool, it's not the problem.

When he's saying artists wanted to be "cool", what he's really saying is that artists wanted to be super stars (national & international). Artist made more money when they were regional.

The contracts and deals took away their profitability. The reality is MOST artist need the machine because they don't have the infrastructure and teams to target and work their product. And then you have to start having the conversation about the quality of the product.

You speaking real shyt right here but on that last part is where I think he has the strength in his point.

I agree most artists need/want the machine because they lack the skills, information, resources, etc to do it themselves BUT the otherside is that most of them are too lazy to even TRY to do it themselves. Banner is a guy that did all the groundwork himself and got himself to his level off the grit. There are several artists that did it themselves like a Master P but they are far and few inbetween but this is exactly why the youngins needs to reach out to the veterans to learn the game. But unfortunately a lof of people would rather take a shytty deal from the white man than grind with the black man from around the way.

while i cant speak on the structure of his past dealings with big companies, the reason we know david banner and hes even on Drink Champs is because of his former partnerships with those majors...not no underground shyt.

and thats not even to suggest that theres no value on that story and procedure he developed . so theres some substance within the noise...but he didn't platform himself at such a scale. the machine did

The artists were naive to accept the fractions of a penny for each stream. They should've pushed for receiving a percentage of each subscriber's monthly subscription. If I only listened to David Banner last month on my Apple Music, he should get all of my monthly subscription.
