TrueNobody ?
Really? I heard it was fireI did. Wasn't all that good outside of 2-3 songs---and two were singles. This dude really hyped me up but failed to deliver.

Dude makes good beats and tried but imo where this albums fails is he tries to talk that revolutionary conscious shyt but in an almost pop kind of way and I feel those two don't mix. He's preachy but instead of doing it on some cool dead prez genuine shyt where you spitting and just being true to you but your good at it, he comes off preachy and trying to do it in a "hip" way and that doesn't work for him.
As much as I wanted to like this I feel it's not that good. I like Uzi though.
Facts that name and the promo he had for that album was good but he took to long to drop so the promo wore off of it and it didn't live up to the hype. I agree it's hard to blend the two and imo it takes a certain swagger, a certain charisma and special artist to blend it all like that and make it seem genuine. You can't be overly conscious or else it's preachy, you can't be too pop or else it's corny. It has to be genuine and interesting like TPAB or Kendrick does it in general.Gonna be hard to make a revoltionary pop reocrd...you're gonna have to weave that stuff in after you get the ball rolling in a particular direction. Like How Do You Want it is a diss song, poltical song and a party record all at once. And I don't even think he intented it that way but it weaved 'concious' or poltical perspectives into something that had already led you to the dance floor.
I think that's what Banner was trying to do and I commended it but it didn't come out perfect. Good template for other people to use though.
I wish he had scrapped that album name...I had plans for that![]()

Every song can't be conscious on a record like that either, it has to be a mix of the two. Also he should have got a little more personal with the record and I don't get even why he even used the name god box either. Would have been dope if he came up with a narrative for that.
Another thing I just thought of is that you have to be a rapper who is a conscious nikka to do what he was trying to do and not a conscious nikka trying to rap which is how he came off. Sure he can rap but he came off like he was trying to rap if you catch my drift. He came off unnatural with it, idk man but hopefully this is a learning experience for him.
I agree with you man, definitely,I heard him talk about the album like 3 years ago, I assumed he scrapped the name, I was looking into the domain and everything then I hear it's gonna drop
So much more interesting things to do with that name than drop an album...but again I commend him. You can put the medicine in the mix but you gotta get them hooked first. It feels like he telegraphed the whole shyt, comes off too deliberate where as cats like Soul or even Kendrick can slide their darts in there unannounced. No hate for DB though.
Who's heard it ?
