Car’s are totaled as soon as an airbag goes out.
Most shops aren’t equipped to nor want to replace an airbag so they just add a bunch of trumped up charges on the bill to make it a total loss.
In fact, most shops working with insurance have a racket going anyways. They don’t want to fix shyt like this. It’s too much work.
They’d rather tell the insurance it’s a total loss and buy the parts off them.
I actually had a quote for a totaled car that was literally like 50 bucks over the limit. Lazy fukks it’s all a racket
