DC Police arrest serial sexual abuser who assaulted at least 12 women

WASHINGTON — D.C. police announced the arrest of a man who committed a dozen sexual assaults in 2021 and 2024 at a press conference Thursday.
Uwana Ubom,

35, of Northwest DC, was arrested Wednesday after months of sexually abusing women he doesn’t know on the street and inside apartment buildings, police say.
Two cases took place in June of 2021, and 10 cases took place between April and November of 2024.
Police believe there were likely more incidents during the three-year gap when there were no cases reported to D.C. Police. They have shared a photo of Ubom so that anyone who has been assaulted who recognizes him may be able to come forward.
Ubom has been charged with five counts of third degree sex abuse, three counts of third degree sex abuse while armed, one count each of first degree sexual abuse while armed, assault with a dangerous weapon (gun), misdemeanor sexual abuse, assault with intent to commit first degree sex abuse while armed, and simple assault.
