DC’s Upcoming ‘Lanterns’ Series Gets the Greenlight at HBO

I'd be ok with Hawkgirl or Vixen as John's love interest tbh, whether it be in s2 of this series or just down the road in the greater DCU sandbox. Whatsherface who plays Hawkgirl was pretty good in Superman and would have fit the mold of what imo was missing in the casting news for this series: a young attractive love interest. Ofc a young hot brehetta would be even better from an optics standpoint.

Remember, in the animated show John was jugglin both at one point and each had a fun contrasting style to his more humble beginnings, blue collar persona: Vixen as the ultra rich and famous model/socialite and Hawkgirl as this hotheaded alien warmonger from an advanced society.

John was keeping it P in the J LUnlimited series. Who would you want to see as Vixen?

I've seen some GL fans online express concerns about the fact that Hal's actor (Kyle Chandler) is older, and they think that Hal will be killed by the end of the season and/or become Parallax.

Also, some of them want Kyle Rayner to be adapted into live-action (but that seems unlikely).

Maybe Thuso Mbedu…? she played Viola Davis’s daughter in the Woman King but I haven’t seen what she’s done since or if she can act. Didn’t know she is already 34.

I wouldn’t even lie, I’m not tapped into who any of the young aspiring brehettes in Hollywood are (im talking about those in their 20s), if they’re even getting opportunities like that

Maybe, but I think that Gunn will want there to be some gender diversity with the GLs. In my opinion, Jessica Cruz is more likely to be adapted into live-action than Kyle.

But ultimately, we'll see what happens.
