DDP freaked out on the Dan Le Batard Show today

Diamond Dallas Page was a guest on The Dan Le Batard Show on ESPN Radio todayand he maybe lost his mind at one point after Le Batard spent some time poking and prodding him. The host was trying to get DDP to talk about real life fights that went beyond the scripted world of pro wrestling. Page tried to play it cool but eventually lost it:

"Hey, monkey! Monkey! Yo, monkey, who the hell do you think you're talking to? Monkey, who the hell do you think you're talking to?”

The audio in the above video cuts out at that point, but he goes on to say:

“I'm Positively Page! You think I'm going to flame your garbage? a$$hole! fukk you.”

You can see in the video the hosts have no idea how to react. It’s hard to make out what Page said next but when he cursed again they cut him off and the interview ended there. Later in the show, a producer explained she asked Page if he was joking after they cut him off and she said “it just made no sense because he was just yelling.” She called him “maniacal” and said she couldn’t tell if he was joking or not. Le Batard, for his part, said he thought Page was legitimately mad as opposed to playing a wrestling character.

“Wrestling guy knows better than to curse on Disney radio,” he said.

Dan LeBatard is a real one. He always pokes and prods for juicy stories in a lighthearted manner. Usually people will indulge or just be like "Naaahhh, I'm not talking about that "

Surprised DDP lost his cool like that :patrice:

well some thought he was doing this in character but I doubt he curses like that if he is in character

must've been already angry bout some shyt from earlier

I like Dan and his show but he was being kind of an a$$hole in that interview.

Dan is a good interviewer who has a knack for making guests comfortable but he generally treats wrestlers like one-dimensional lunatics who are only relevant for their crazy carnival antics outside of wrestling. he kept prodding DDP to talk about something negative (his beef with Ric Flair that is now squashed) when as we all know DDP at this point in his life is about positivity and all of that.

DDP probably overreacted but Dan was just beating a dead horse about something the guest didn't want to talk about. Then In the next segment he blamed his production team for not dropping the curse words faster.

Mike Tyson got at his neck too for taking that 'gimme the good stuff' routine too far.

If Dan doesn't respect the interviewee he can be a condescending dikkhead. Guy got into his HoF, but all Dan wants is negative shyt. Then he points the finger at everyone else, and gets on a fan too. DDP spazzed, but shyt man homie was trying to keep it light. Dan just Dan'd the interview up

Never heard this guy interview Rock and if he came at Rock wrong, the backlash to his show would be immense.

Classic LeBatard trying to be funny by being an a$$hole. I've always been surprised that most people tend to "get" what Dan is doing and laugh it off, someone getting pissed and/or defensive like DDP is bound to happen from time to time.

Funny thing is they are gonna play this interview time and time again for years.
