My tastes are varied and eclectic nowadays....on average maybe only 3-4 Hip Hop albums make my rotation. I'm into other stuff.

This year only Kanye and Kendrick have made my rotation. Everything else has been one and done.

I do typically cosign your taste in music, however, I believe this will grow on more people than they realize.

So far, it's kind of on the mellow side. Nothing bad at all but it's rather :ld:

Highlight of the album thus far is Roc Marci's verse.

"My queen look like a young pepper up in the plum Kompressor" :dead:

YIKES!! This is awful.
Terrible. This and the Lord Intended track before it (I didn't make it 7 minutes)

Songs sound more like "_____ featuring De La Soul" than anything

Nah....this joint aint hitting.

With some of these tracks, with all of their genre bending potential, De La sounds like guests on them more than anything else.

Rest of the album...isn't wack, but too mundane to get excited about.

I don't even have the urge to give this a repeated listen :francis:

At least we have the classics

Only listened through Roc Marciano's verse on the song he's featured on. So far his verse is the best thing about the album. Obviously, I'm gonna listen to the whole thing.

Just spinned this again, I think De La has another classic on their hands. It's funny because that track with 2Chainz, arguably put out his best verse and made me respect him more as a lyricist. I get some of the criticisms though, it isn't a straight up hip-hop album like The Grind Date was, there's definitely some rock elements to it, but the production is beautiful as a unit.

Pretty avant-garde compared to the rest of their discog, Pete Rock track is highlight for me so far
