Off topic but, why do we ever care about a review from anyone besides ourselves? I mean, maybe an expert giving a review of something in a particular field that he has great expertise in can be useful, but even with that it's still just his/her individual opinion, pretty much. We give random ass people with platforms way too much power when it comes to what we end up liking or not liking, believing or not believing, championing or not championing, etc... Ish is crazy. That sheeple ish is real, :ohhh:

All these dudes in this clip seem moist and corny, lol, why should you care what these random dudes think about hip hop? Think about it.

I think you, like a lot of other people, are misunderstanding why music/film/tv/art critics are important. If a review is from a respected entity in music, like The Source used to be, or a respected person, then it holds current music up to a standard that helps maintain the quality of the art. You can disagree with the review, but a good review helps place things in the proper context and helps you appreciate the music. I get that it’s just art and it’s subjective, but a lot of good music gets lost in the mix when we only go based on the charts and popular opinion. Look how things have gotten in the post Source/XXL relevance days.

And if your opinion consistently runs counter to qualified, credible critics, then you need to get your ears checked.

I have my own opinion but I don't mind hearing someone else's And that verse was good but not godly. Over hyping that shyt. And I was such a big Em fan honestly.

Who said I’m not going to like what I like? And let’s not discuss wasting time...on a hip hop message board.

I don’t look at reviews to validate my opinion or as a way to decide what to think. I look at reviews for new music I haven’t heard before. I use it as a recommendation for what to listen to and see if I like. It can be a good way to find music I wouldn’t have heard otherwise.

It's a human trait breh. People like to be reassured or have their opinions validated by other people that share their likenesses.

I cant even name another Ed Sheeran song, but his hook on River is the only good thing on Revival.
He should address the bullshyt he's putting out instead of this empty nonsense response.

Y'all can have it. I agree you can get some good suggestions but I'm not ever worried about validating my opinions. This is a new generation so Ima just let y'all rock.

I understand what youre saying, but it's really the same as 7/8 of this message board. You like or don't like something or you're passionate about it, you try to find other people who like or don't like it too. You realy just wanna discuss the shyt or listen to other people discuss it, even if you can't contribute to said discussion.

But I'm ALSO gonna say you're 100% correct in saying the opinions of "famous" folks got too much sway on "regular nikkas".

You see it all the time. A nikka don't like something but everybody else do, he start acting confused and conflicted.
":sadcam: maybe it's something wrong with me. I'ma keep listening to it......."
A week later you see them talking bout ":gladbron: I listened to this album like 20 times and it FINALLY CLICKED WITH ME, BREHS! :blessed:"
