I just found out that you can tie your cargo down with the Strand Rope. Went to take my backpack off before clearing a bandit camp and equipped the Strand Rope before tapping L2 to ready it. An option popped up to tie my cargo down.

If you're carrying a lot of stuff and it's still ridiculous even after it's been optimized, tie it down with the rope. It's still just as heavy but it's world's better when it comes to centering your gravity and reducing the odds of Sam losing his balance.

Yeah, theres like dozens of “hidden” mechanics like that in this game. I was like when i did it

I only saw his home on the map when I discovered it while scanning. I haven't visited him yet. That's a nice detail. Sounds like the devs expected us to try it.

and that's why he's best with an editor that restrains him somewhat

I feel like this is every major Japanese writer's problem.

A lot of fake deep writing with a lack of real substance, masked by over dramaticization.

Kojima is definitely the most pretentious with it tho.
