That Def Squad era was so dope and rarely talked about. El Nino was seen as a disappointment at the time, but revisiting it, it's dope. Only thing I wish Jamal was on more shyt in general.

Facts

I actually forgot how great El Niño was

But when I started listening back to it a few months ago, I was like “this shyt actually sounds even better now than it did in 98’”

Red, Erick and Keith were literally dropping albums every other year

Hell, in 98’ we got Doc’s Da Name, El Niño, and then Keith dropped It’s A Beautiful Thing in 99’

Then rewind back, Erick had already dropped No Pressure and Double Or Nothing in 93’ and 94’. And we got the Insomnia compilation in 95’

Red had Whut in 92’ and Muddy in 96

They was just dropping classic and great albums left and right in the 90’s

Yeah, and we kinda took it for granted cuz a lot of them were just 4 mics so we listened and moved on. But, going back there was so much heat.
