let me fix that above statement.

not references. it should say IF you know someone in the company that can pull strings(hiring manager, HR, etc.) then that will trump experience and the degree.

I'll allow it. :ehh:

Having a degree gives you . you can have no experience but if you got let's say a masters in a field that is somewhat similar you will still get hired while with experience some jobs are now requiring degrees regardless to if u been on the job for years.
exactly.

they say 5 years of experience plus a bs/ba degree or 2 years exp with a masters. which makes absolutely no sense if you really want to get people to do a great job at the position. i know good and well a ton of people with masters degrees are not better workers than someone with a BA/BS or even just a high school diploma that has worked in the field for 5+ years and is very good at it. that masters person is not a better fit. but these companies hire them first like they are.

Well, a masters degree says that you have competent research, reading, writing, critical thinking, strong communication and presentation skills beyond what a bachelors would do. Plus you're expected to have a certain level of experience in your field of study.

A lot of jobs will train you in how they want you to be, it just works to their benefit that you're bringing the above to the table

This is all from the white mans doing..... Which holds people back there is a lot of things people are capable of doing but without a degree they won't get the chance.

Experience unless its an entry level position. If they're looking for a senior level worker or anything but entry level, they will look at your education only in the sense that you meet the basic requirements. Though if you happened to have experience instead, you'll probably still get a call back and a chance simply because you've proved yourself in the field before.

honestly if someone doesn't want to employ you because of discrimination, no amount of experience and degrees will get your the job. America is racist, point blank. Its a shame that our parents fell for the okie doke and thought that sucking up to whites and kumbayaing would eventually pay off.
