and like certain eras of basketball and football more in the past, but it has little to do with players now being soft. Some of the rule changes I don’t like, but that’s not the players’ faults.
There were plenty of players back then with reputations for not loving their sport and only liking it enough to make a paycheck. Such as Joe B. Carroll (aka Joe Barely Cares) or Derrick “Whoopty Damn Do” Coleman. They had an SI article about Coleman and other NBA players back in the mid 90s, the sentiment was the same. “Today’s players are spoiled prima donnas, they’ve been spoiled with millions, they don’t love the sport, etc.....”
