According to The Wrestling Observer, Alberto Del Rio was very unhappy in WWE because they never kept their promises. Allegedly, McMahon told him he would get a main event push withPaul Heyman as his manager, because he wanted to make him the number-one Hispanic babyface star in WWE to replace the void ofRey Mysterio.

At first, McMahon reportedly treated Del Rio very well. The two would fly together and sat next to each other on the company jet. However, Alberto Del Rio’s pairing with Zeb Colter, which was McMahon's idea, ended up not working out for a number of reasons. And after the pairing didn’t work, McMahon moved on to other projects in WWE.

The report also says that Del Rio was always said to be a "Vince McMahon" guy, and his most of his issues were with HHH. However, it is said that if McMahon wanted Del Rio to be one of the company’s top guys still, he would have worked with both guys to squash their conflict.

So Vince came up with a shytty idea that flopped and of course he wasn't gonna take the blame for that....

Wouldn't have worked IMO

Del Rio is good, real good at times even but just not good for the WWE.

both sides have tried damn near everything and he's just not "stuck" the way someone with the pushes they tried should in this company

:francis: shyt sucks.

They were all getting buried at the time

Heyman himself admitted that his main goal was always hyping up Brock so any other associate he had was just filler or fodder to him for whatever Brock was doing next. Del Rio wouldn't have been any different imo.

If Del Rio was going to get a main event push, obviously it would have been a build for him to face Brock. Like Heyman time as Punk manager

Don't let this company off the hook that easy. They easily coulda found something for him that would generate massive heat if they wanted to.
