According to The Wrestling Observer, Alberto Del Rio was very unhappy in WWE because they never kept their promises. Allegedly, McMahon told him he would get a main event push withPaul Heyman as his manager, because he wanted to make him the number-one Hispanic babyface star in WWE to replace the void ofRey Mysterio.

At first, McMahon reportedly treated Del Rio very well. The two would fly together and sat next to each other on the company jet. However, Alberto Del Rio’s pairing with Zeb Colter, which was McMahon's idea, ended up not working out for a number of reasons. And after the pairing didn’t work, McMahon moved on to other projects in WWE.
The report also says that Del Rio was always said to be a "Vince McMahon" guy, and his most of his issues were with HHH. However, it is said that if McMahon wanted Del Rio to be one of the company’s top guys still, he would have worked with both guys to squash their conflict.
So Vince came up with a shytty idea that flopped and of course he wasn't gonna take the blame for that....
