I've been listening to Sports Radio. And there is a rumor that Phil will just trade the NY Pick in this coming draft to get Boggie and then wait until 2016 and bring in another star. Maybe KD

I don't think they will be able to coexist in NY together. How you guys feel?

I don't see why they couldnt coexist. Melo is versatile as in where he can score from and boogie can do his thing in the post. Get some 3 shooters to spread the floor and create space

I think he should take the cheap labor with Okafor/Towns and look to use that money in other areas

Going for established talent. which is smart when you got the dough to do so and trying to win sooner than later. Can't wait 3 years for a young C to develop.

I don't get it still. You can draft Okafor/Towns, and have them for pennies on the dollar. By year 2 they both should be high impact players.

Then you can allocate the funds you would be paying Cousins to other areas like bringing in a legit PG, SG, PF.

I would take Okafor,Towns/14 mil in capspace over just Cousins (unless you've done your research and don't believe they have all star talent)

Draft towns and keep working to add pieces. The Knicks are not going to win with Carmelo as the top option and they need to start realizing that now.

Trade Carmelo (if u still can)

draft a big, sign smaller priced players in a millsap, monroe, knight or dragic level, sprinkle in some solid role players and then add a big player when the cap goes up substantially a year later. much easier to convince a great player to join when there is a solid team around as opposed to just asking him to be a savior like we did in 2010.

I just started a franchise with the Knicks on 2k this week :heh:

I cleaned out all long term contracts outside Melo, was able to snag a 2016 1st rounder(it will be a late 1st tho, but the Knicks didn't have a 2016 1st) for Hardaway JR and traded for Ed Davis

Drafted Okafor #1, signed Kris Middleton & Dragic in the offseason along with some depth

Lineup of:

Dragic/Pat Beverly
Middleton/Courtney Lee
Melo/Cleanthony/Copeland
Ed Davis/Brandon Bass/Jon Leuer
Okafor/Cole Aldrich

:ehh:

There are known knowns and unknown unknowns. You know Cousins is the real deal. You don't know how good okafor or towns will turn out. Or how the balls will bounce. What if they end up with the 4th pick.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Boogie is kind of :ld: right now, he sucks on defense and is selfish as shyt on offense.

Better off just drafting one of the bigs and overpaying for Monroe, Lopez type guys. We already have a window into how it would work, Rudy Gay and DeMarcus aren't exactly the dynamic duo.

This is only "swirling" because Phil gave a recent interview where he said the draft is not the only place he's looking to rebuild. He's looking to do it through free agency, and free agency is going to be a major focus. So, yeah.

I don't want to give up this pick, because it's the chance at having a young player to develop cheaply for the future. That cap room is going to be there, you don't have to spend it all right now. you could make nominal improvements, and wait until there are REAL stars to sign. (rather than like, maxing out LMA)

But I'd trade Melo for Boogie.
