The overdose led to her having three strokes and a heart attack. She now has permanent brain damage and blind spots in her vision (she can pour a glass of water and miss the glass) so she can't drive anymore.

There's something about the attention and fame that young children receive having a potentially negative impact on their world view and sense of self as they get older.
I think that there are a lot of people that are grounded and normal who get into acting.
But I also think there's something about the very nature of wanting to be famous and in tv shows and movies that attracts people who are prone to self-destructive behavior and other things.
