Later in the interview he says the Dems basically want to go back to 4 years ago with little tweaks. Points out that the reason Democrats lost was because so many of the old democrats have either died or flipped republican.

Most registered voters don't switch their party until they have too, which could be decades in the case for older people whom once was democrats when they were younfer
